![]() 2010: In review
So, 2010 is almost over, and what a fucking roller coaster it has been. It came with some of the best moments in my life, but also the total fucking lowpoint that I could never have imagined. Here's my view on things in my life this past year:
2010 couldn't have started worse, with my sister committing suicide on January 31st, only a few hours after I last spoke to her, texted her, and saw her. I couldn't in my wildest dreams have imagined that she would do it, but a part of me was afraid of it for quite some time. I am pretty sure that nothing anyone of us could do would have changed it, but everyone close to her will always have some regrets about things you did or didn't do. There is nothing anyone of us can do about it now, so I've found that it's better to embrace the good moments we shared, and keep those memories close to my heart. I will always wonder how life would have been if she was still here, I'm pretty sure it would be awesome. Much better than it actually is now, though. Only a few days after that happened, my band had to play a show, so I did. That was weird, as she was always on the front row. A strong feeling of not belonging there was going through my head at the time. I stuck with it, though, and I believe that everything eventually makes you stronger (or more fucked up, who knows?) Not long after, my band was playing three shows at By:Larm, where the icing of the cake was the last show at Rockefeller Annex, right before Purified In Blood played at the main stage. That has to be one of the coolest shows I've ever played. Good crowd, lots of energy, a place packed to capacity and smiles and mosh pits going hand in hand. I even got a bra thrown at me. Awesome! Right after playing By:Larm, we heard news that we were going to be booked to play at the Hove Festival. Sweet. We didn't know that we were matched up with Atreyu, Heaven Shall Burn and As I Lay Dying on the Amfi stage, but we were stoked nonetheless. When we finally got the contract signed, it was almost time to play at OsloLyd and Musikkfest. Last year, we were the opening band on the metal stage at Musikkfest, this year, we were the second to last band. The turnout was massive, pits were violent and I jumped off stage only to walk up to people on the sidewalk while playing. Hilarious to look at their faces when they saw that I was actually playing. That has to be my favorite show of the year in terms of my own expectations to it. It blew my mind. Only three weeks later, I had sold my apartment, moved in to a new one, and was on my way to Hove. The stage was massive, maybe even a little too big, and the turnout wasn't as high as I would have hoped. Still, it was a fun show to play, a great experience, and a massive boost to my ego. Awesome. Skip ahead to the end of August, and I got to see my favorite band of all time in Paris. I finally saw blink-182. Sweet again. That trip was probably the most fun I've had this year. Not enough sleep, five good friends, lots of alcohol, a fucking high tower and a great band. How could it go wrong? This fall has been a little calmer, while we have been looking for a new drummer and rehearsing with him. I haven't really done a lot this fall, but I've been busy hanging out with good friends and making new friends. You need that at times too. I just hope 2010 is gone for good come New Years eve. And bring the mental awesomeness back in 2011, I'm fucking ready! I guess I have to summarize some music related stuff too, so my most influential albums that I've listened to this year are: Purified In Blood - Reaper Of Souls: It's good to listen to something that calms you because the aggression is relieved by the music. And it's a great record Dashboard Confessional - Alter The Ending: Get Me Right is probably my favorite song from this year Taking Back Sunday - Live From Orensanz: A brilliant, mellow live record with a few of my favorite songs And my favorite music moments of 2010: *Playing at Hove, By:Larm and Musikkfest. *Seeing blink-182. *Getting props for playing in a band that people might know. Now for the checklist for 2011: *Finally claim the throne as the most awesome band in Norway with Shot At Dawn (well, making people realize it). *Make known and unknown people laugh more. *Meet new people. *Make it an awesome year for everyone involved. That's about what I can be assed to write. Take care, find me, fuck me, beat me, love me, hate me, whatever you feel for, fucking go out and do it. High Five! PS! I wanna thank my friends for sticking up with my shit this year, listening to me and caring about me. I'll be the same retard next year, but I love you guys for being there with me and for me <3 Posted on 29 Dec 2010 by Espen
![]() I laugh at how often you update your blog!
That's a nice quote from my friends. So I might
I have no idea what I'm gonna write about, but I guess something will come up during my typing. Or maybe not? This is like totally interesting, right? Oh yeah, you can't comment on this, cause I turned off the comment form. I really hate spam, and I had to delete like 300 entries the last time I checked. That's why. What the fuck is up with spammers, anyways? Do they really think people are dumb enough to click any random link with lots of xes and ys in the url .cx or whatever? And if you are dumb enough to click it, then too bad for you, you don't deserve to not be buttraped by popups and shit. I'm too lazy to follow up with reasoning right now, so peace out. Oh! And in November, I'll be seeing Deftones and Coheed And Cambria for the second and third time, respectively. Might get some good footage from it, might not, I don't know. ![]() I'm meant to update this site like once a year, am I not?
So this weekend I was in Paris. I saw blink-182. The reason why I'm into the music I am today, and the reason why I have such a great sense of humour.
I bootlegged the entire set, only to find out that Sony have put a limit of 10 minutes per clip on the camera I have. Thanks a shitload, Sony! That made me miss most of The Rock Show, the entire What's My Age Again? and all the banter between those two songs, which was hilarious by the way. It also made me miss all of Stay Together For The Kids but the intro, half of Down, and the middle part of Stockholm Syndrome. Thanks again, Sony! I love you so deeply! Regardless, I've spent all day separating and editing the tracks that I did get, trying to remove most of the annoying French kids who were all in my way and noisy and can't say a word in English. Not even blink. "BLIINCH!!!" and "KÆRRØSEL". If I'm ever elected the dictator of any country, I will make sure everyone speak English before they are done in school. Fuck most of the other classes. The videos are on the "bands filmed" page, accessible from the menu on the right. And if you notice me dropping my camera at the start of Carousel, be sure that i punched the fuck out of the guy who made me drop it. He just walked away like a stupid little bastard with a red shirt and curly hair he was! Rant over, enjoy the videos :p Posted on 31 Aug 2010 by Espen
![]() Thank god!
Thank God I uploaded the Less Than Jake bootleg, I've lost it from my computer :p

![]() Jimmy Eat World #3
So the third time I've seen Jimmy Eat World is now up, and my Less Than Jake bootleg from yesterday will be upped sooner rather than later. Less Than Jake were great live. So is Jimmy, but we already know that, don't we?

![]() New thing tomorrow!
Soh. A while since the last post, but more stuff will appear shortly. Tomorrow, Jimmy Eat World play in Oslo for the second time this year, and I am of course going, and my camera is too. So look forward to what hopefully will be a full bootleg of my favorite live band.
Oh, and I saw Coheed and Cambria in April, and I know, I should have uploaded some stuff from there 2 months ago, and it will appear on here as soon as I have the time and willpower to convert videos from the insane rawsize they are. Posted on 12 Jun 2008 by Espen
![]() Feels just like heaven
Saw The Cure yesterday. Great show. 3 hours and 36 songs. Got a few of them on video, so check out the filmed page.

![]() I'm No Lucky Denver Mint
I just got back from seeing Jimmy Eat World sell out and tear apart Rockefeller. Shame they didn't play Lucky Denver Mint or Goodbye Sky Harbour. Got most of the show on film, but my effing batteries died during Big Casino, so I didn't manage to bootleg Sweetness. Annoying. The song I wanted to bootleg most except for For Me This Is Heaven my batteries were dead and I didn't notice. Note to self: Lights not shining, batteries are most likely dead...
Seeing The Cure next Monday, and I'll try to bootleg Just Like Heaven and Boys Don't Cry at least. I'll see what I can get. Videos from today Posted on 05 Feb 2008 by Espen
![]() In reply to last post
I found them, and uploaded them right away. Crappy quality because of a disposable camera I didn't send in when I should have (I waited a year before sending it, and the film was somewhat damaged from just lying around)
So now my trips to Roskilde festival are all represented with pics from the camp life and concerts. Posted on 15 Jul 2007 by Espen
![]() And I'm back in control
Everything is now working again, all the pictures, all the links, all the videos. And I even added a list of all the gigs I've seen (excluding most of the local bands), with dates and links to pics and/or videos if they exist. Even if there are few of them.
I'm gonna have to work on the Daddysmilk site and upload some videos there, and I've gotta figure out something else to have here. Now where are my pics from Roskilde 2004? Posted on 15 Jul 2007 by Espen
![]() I might have just fucked it all up...
I started installing a smoother, way sexier image gallery, then deleted the database files for the old one, and now the new one says it's already installed, though nothing is in the database, and the old one is gone... What to do?
Images and videos on this domain might be absent for a little while, but the AFI and most of the Thrice and Coheed And Cambria videos should still work, and I'm working on making plogger work, so that things will get back to normal. Crapcum! Posted on 13 Jul 2007 by Espen
![]() Through our bleeding, we are one!
AFI is posted. And hosted on another server with more space as allhopeout.com is full at the moment. Great show, great setlist, but shame about the lack of Total Immortal. Ahwell. Next time. I got the whole show! Yay me!
I'm also gonna try to upload the rest of my videos now. The Jimmy Eat World, The Used and Coheed And Cambria ones that only I have seen. Posted on 15 May 2007 by Espen
![]() New bootleg soon
So it's almost a year since I did something here. Jeez. Time goes by fast. I'll be off to Stockholm next weekend, I'm bringing my camera, and I'm planning to bootleg as much of AFI's show as humanly possible. I have 2 GB of memory, and if my brain calculates right, that'll be about 1 hour and 30 minutes of video. Just hoping that the quality will be as good as the Thrice bootleg. That would be nice. I also have a spare memorycard with 500 MB, so I might take some pictures if there's a signing and stuff. Check back in 2 weeks and the result of my trip should be posted in the gallery.

![]() Roskilde is over for this year
I'm home again. Feels good to be home and be able to take a shit or shower whenever I want to. I've only been home for 2 hours, but damn it's a good feeling.
As you might know, Coheed And Cambria had to cancel their European summer tour, so they didn't play at Roskilde. I bootlegged a little of Guns N Roses and Roger Waters though. And I saw a few other good bands. All in all, this years festival was a very good one. Great weather (the last 4 days at least), great spirit, nice food, hilarious moments and lots of other highlights. Still, the fact that our camp was about 15 minutes away from the festival area (concert venues) and food made it not that great. And we had a 15 minute walk to the showers, and there was a huge queue to the toilets almost all the time. Out of the 4 festivals I've been to, this one has to be ranked as #3, with 2005 as #1, 2003 as #1 and 2004 as #4. Don't get me wrong, but last year was incredible, and there's nothing replacing your first festival experience, so #3 is a good result in the end. It would take something very special to be #1 in this ranking. I've now officially changed my name to Hank after purchasing a cowboyhat that is machine washable. Hank the Tank or Hank (insert some porn name here). All in all I have 177 pictures and 8 videos from the 6 days I spent in Denmark this time, and I'll get 60 some pictures from my girlfriend and a bunch of more pictures, so the gallery will be nice and full of pictures this year. Shame you won't get to see me and Zigge licking eachothers tounges because of some WEIRD camera or memory stick issues with my girlfriends camera. Ohwell. Booze gives life a whole new meaning. ![]() Roskilde next
The ticket has been purchased and I'm set to go to my 4th consecutive Roskilde Festival. The highlight of this years festival has to be Coheed And Cambria. That's the only highlight. Apart from them the lineup sucks this year. And I saw them play and bootlegged them only 4 months ago. Ahwell. The weather forecast is good so far, so we might be in for another asswhoppin festival though.
I'm only gonna be there from Wednesday this year, but I'll be there in time for the concerts. Let's throw one hell of a party and try to find me if you're going. I'll be there with my long hair and tshirts and stuff. Try to pick me out of the crowd with that description. Check back a few days after the festival to see if I managed to bootleg Coheed And Cambria again or if I failed (which I think I will this year). I'll do my best though. ![]() THRICE
I just came home from seeing Thrice at Garage. Damn, they are good live. And nice people too. I shook Dustin, Riley, and Eddies hands. I filmed 6 of 11 songs. They had a curfew, so they couldn't play all the songs they were supposed to play.
The support acts Hundred Reasons and The Valley Arena weren't that good, so I spent some time outside the venue with friends instead. And make a cash withdrawal to buy even more merch. Ohwell. At least I supported Thrice with 600 kr of merch money. I also played a concert with my band today, Misery Conduct is the name, and click the link on the right to access our site (it's not anywhere near finished). Isn't that funny? I play in a metalcore band, and I don't even listen to metalcore. It's fun to play. That's my rant of the day. Oh... And did I mention I got the set list and a bass pick from Thrice? And a guitar pick from The Valley Arena? I'm all in it for the free stuff, baby! Posted on 07 May 2006 by Espen
